The Finno-Ugric Nations' Common Orison Took Place

A nature worshipping common orison of the Finno-Ugric nations took place in Estonia, in Harjumaa, in the Sinialliku Shrine, on 15th August. Mari, Erza, Udmurt, Finnish and Estonian nature worshippers appealed to the Gods of their people in their native languages. It was asked that the Gods would get along with each other and stick together, that they would keep the kinsmen in harmony and help them keep their lands and languages.

The common orison was organised by the Estonian House of Taara and Native Religions. The orison was dedicated to the soon to begin World Congress of the Finno-Ugric Nations and to the great rye day (rye festivities).

After the common orison there was a memorial service at the memorial stone to the Kanavere Battle of the Jüriöö Uprising in 1343, where the centuries long liberty struggle of the Estonian aborigines, the country folk, was reminded and the perished were honoured. At the same time the premier performance of the anthem of the Mari Nation took place in the foreign countries.
