This small shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe was found on a long walk at Our Lady of the Rock Benedictine monastery on Shaw Island, WA. The six nuns who live there chant the office in Latin, but they also grow their own heirloom varieties of sheep, cows, and llamas. They make cheese and harvest meat. They live close to the rhythms of the land and synchronize their work and prayer into a single life.
