This lone chair sits overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a trail at New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur, CA. I found it one day as I was hiking along. As I stepped up to to the chair, I could see the sun setting in the western horizon which was a simple line between sea and sky. It was totally silent. It is simple and solitary places like these, that true knowledge is found.
