Kirjeldus
Arates Monastery is located in Arates village in Armenia. It is built in 9th century, consequently it is a historical place. However, the church is in semi-destroyed condition and is in danger because of it. Arates Monastery is small but very beautiful. Sadly, the dome is greatly damaged and the walls are half-ruined. According to popular legend, this unique monastery's name came from the combination of “ari” (come) and “tes” (see).
